FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
|
- How long does it usually take to find someone?
It usually takes 2-8 weeks to find you the best nanny. Please allow enough time to meet the right person.
- What is nanny's average salary?
Most of our full-time nannies earn a salary ranging from $2000 to $3000 a month with 30-50 hours a week. Part time nannies earn anywhere from $12 to $16 an hour. Nanny's salary is based on her experience and education.
- Am I required to give benefits to my nanny?
No, this is not required. However many families choose to show their appreciation by giving benefits to their nannies such as paid vacation, holidays, sick days, health insurance and reimbursement for gas etc. This will help to keep your perfect nanny happy.
- What duties can we expect our nanny to do?
Nanny usually provides child related housekeeping, which could include tidying up toys and children's areas, children's laundry, changing linens and keeping the kitchen clean after meal preparation. Some nannies also agree to light housekeeping if time allows. However you shouldn't expect your nanny to do too much. Remember, your nanny's first responsibility is taking care of children and their safety.
- Is my nanny considered my employee or is she an independent contractor?
If your nanny is paid more than $1400 per year she is considered a household employee. Your nanny's taxes usually range from 15-20% of her gross wages. You can expect to pay employment taxes that usually amount to 9-11% of their employee's gross pay. But don't worry. There are tax breaks available to offset these costs.
- What happens if my nanny leaves before finishing the one year period?
We will replace your nanny within 90 days free. If you need a replacement after 3 months, we will issue a prorated credit that can be applied toward your next placement.
